About Us

A national competence centre for HPC, AI and HPDA

DeiC and the universities of Aarhus, Copenhagen and the Alexandra Institute collaborate on providing knowledge about the European (and Danish) HPC infrastructure and services and on clarifying and developing competences within the fields of HPC, AI and HPDA.

The aim of our collaboration is to develop competencies of the Danish business segment, public administration and the research community, as well as provide development support, insight and assistance in deployment of HPC applications.

About the EuroCC project

The EuroCC project is a European initiative under the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) that builds and operates a network of 36 National Competence Centres (NCCs) for High Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High-Performance Data Analytics (HPDA). The project supports the adoption and effective use of these technologies by industry, academia and the public sector across Europe.

In April 2026, the project entered its third phase (EuroCC 3) under the Digital Europe Programme, building on the foundations established in earlier phases. EuroCC 3 focuses on strengthening the operational maturity of the competence centres, deepening cross-border collaboration, and ensuring that investments in advanced computing deliver tangible economic, scientific and societal impact.

A key ambition of EuroCC is to contribute to European digital sovereignty. As AI systems and data-intensive applications scale rapidly, secure, trustworthy and sustainable access to computing infrastructure becomes a strategic asset. EuroCC helps organisations make informed choices about infrastructure, data, governance and partnerships, while developing capabilities that reduce dependence on non-European technologies.

Across Europe, the National Competence Centres serve as single national entry points for advanced computing. They provide guidance, training, use-case development and hands-on support, connecting users with expertise, infrastructure and European initiatives such as EuroHPC supercomputers and AI Factories.

EuroCC also works closely with complementary initiatives, including CASTIEL, to promote knowledge exchange, share best practices and strengthen a coherent European ecosystem. These efforts help raise capabilities across countries while respecting differences in national maturity and needs.

Running from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029, EuroCC 3 brings together partners and associated members from 36 European countries. The network is coordinated by the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS).

As Denmark's National Competence Centre, EuroCC Denmark connects Danish industry, public organisations and academia with Europe's advanced computing ecosystem, helping turn computing power into innovation, competitiveness and long-term value.
